Good news all! Check out the 8540 support manual page 1 (9th physcial page of the pdf)

Under the Product description, Graphics is listed an “ATI FirePro M5800″

So it looks like your someone must’ve actually been listening (or reading your blog

As I commented before, no ATI option (not even 4xxx series!) == bleh.

Noooo!! I still hope that they consider them as options in their business notebooks in the future though [wishful thinking].
The new Quadro cards on the 8540w are decent, but certainly not top of the line or as mind blowing as the ATI 5000 series.
