Well played HP, looks like the big white-and-blue is coming back to its senses. HP announced over the weekends that webOS will be going open source, and there’s a slight chance of HP themselves coming back to make webOS hardware (though CEO Meg Whitman’s words point towards more tablets but no smartphones). At least that’s some good news for webOS fans… we were all gloomy and pessimistic about webOS before HP’s change in CEO, but now we’re thinking […]
HP Pavilion dm4 updated with a subwoofer and Beats Edition
HP also announced an updated Pavilion dm4, their 14 inch consumer notebook model. On the outside, it looks almost identical to its predecessor launched 6 months ago, but the new Pavilion dm4 now sports Beats branded speakers (versus Altec Lansing on the previous laptop) and adds a new mini subwoofer unit.
The new Pavilion dm4 is equipped with a selection of Intel Sandy Bridge processors for you to choose from, two […]
HP Folio 13 Ultrabook
HP finally came up with their own Ultrabook model yesterday, officially, after that initial preview spotted in Australia. The 0.81 inch thin notebook, now officially named the HP Folio 13 sports a 13.3 inch display and an EliteBook-esque design. The Folio 13 looks like a mashup of HP’s Pavilion models with the ProBook 5330m, and overall, it does look pretty slick.
The HP Folio 13 features two USB ports in total (one 3.0 and one 2.0), Ethernet […]
Everyone's happy with HP now!
Whew, after much confusion as to what HP was thinking and what would happen to HP Fansite if they did, and a sprinkle of hope when they swapped out CEO’s, the verdict is in this week. According to HP’s new CEO Meg Whitman, they’ve looked at the idea of spinning PSG (HP’s computer division, essentially) off, but have decided against it, saying it was the right thing to do for just about […]
Well, maybe all is not lost after all… HP has just appointed eBay’s ex-CEO, Meg Whitman, as their new CEO; removing Leo Apotheker from the driver’s seat. Maybe HP will now rethink that move to split off their PC making division and we might still see new Pavilions and EliteBooks in 2012 and beyond. While that’s nice and really makes my day at least, I still don’t think she (HP’s new CEO) will bring back WebOS from the dead… […]
HP Touchpad 4G
The duo which have already worked together on getting that HP Veer 4G out, HP and AT&T are back at it again. They’ve just announced the TouchPad 4G today! The HP TouchPad 4G is the ‘connected version’ of the HP TouchPad we first heard news about last month.
The changes you’ll find on the TouchPad 4G include:
Connectivity to AT&T’s HSPA+ “4G” network (no actual LTE 4G sadly)
32 GB version only, at the moment (regular TouchPad comes in […]
HP TouchPad updates coming
It’s been barely two weeks since the HP TouchPad got released onto market shelves and already HP is talking about improving the user experience of the TouchPad. According to this report by Information Week, which talks to HP’s Jon Rubinstein and Ari Jaaski about WebOS and the TouchPad; there are updates in the pipeline that will eventually roll out (over the air, of course!) to improve the performance and multi-tasking management of […]
AMD Radeon 6990M
AMD has just announced their Radeon 6990M mobile graphics card, which they proudly tout to be the latest fastest mobile GPU in the market at the moment… yup, faster than Nvidia’s flagship GeForce GTX580M. The AMD Mobility Radeon 6990M is a DirectX 11 card that boasts HD 3D support, Eyefinity (of course!) and will come in at least a 2 GB GDDR5 256-bit flavor, with a huge bandwidth pipeline of 115.2 GB/s.
Well, as usual, we’ve all got […]
