Big bad earmuffs!

By Brad Feb 8 2010 3 Comments

Hey all, how was your week? Mine was hectic as ever.
I’ve been very busy over the last one week, attending several events and product launches (errr… non-HP ones unfortunately) and I recently received a pair of Panasonic ‘earmuff’ headphones as a gift. And let me summarize things for you: Best. Gift. Ever. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’d know that I’ve been enjoying loud, thumping bass along with crispy clear sound. I’m loving it! This pair of Panasonic […]

HP Night Light in action on Elitebook 8440p running Left4Dead 2
Wondering how effective the HP Night Light is in HP’s Elitebook models? How about the gaming performance of the HP Elitebook 8440p when it comes to the sequel to everyone’s favorite zombie-horror game? Well, everyone, I’ve got a treat for you today: you get the answers to both questions in this single article! I just happened to be playing Left4Dead 2 on a friend’s newly acquired Elitebook 8440p […]

Assassin’s Creed 2 for PC, mark your calendars

As many of you may know, while I’m not busy with books, papers, friends or HP products, I also love, love, love PC gaming. Did I mention how I recently picked up Assassin’s Creed 1 for PC, played it on a borrowed HP Envy 15 and loved it? No? Well, now you know. After playing Batman Arkham Asylum for PC last December (and writing about its singleplayer experience earlier this month), I sort of went on a “third […]

Playing as the happy chainsaw-wielding Coach in Left4Dead 2

In some other news related to gaming, I’ve just updated Left4Dead 2 to the latest version (I think) after a long while of not playing the game due to crash issues, which some may remember, I posted about more than a month ago. Well after keeping myself busy with other games, relaxing during the Christmas/New Year holidays and more recently, covering HP-related CES news, I’ve finally had the time […]

Batman: Arkham Asylum for PC (I'm enjoying it, "only" 47% done)

The date is January 2, 2010. No sign of any HP news or rumors so far… so before we get all busy with CES 2010 (Consumer Electronics Show) and the rumored new HP notebooks and stuff, I’d like to take some time today to talk about gaming.
For the last two days before the New Year, I had probably the most exciting and enjoyable single-player gaming experience of 2009. Batman: […]

Happy holidays/Merry Xmas from HP Fansite (+Colin McRae DiRT 2 preview)

By Brad Dec 25 2009 add comment

Happy holidays and Merry Christmas from HP Fansite, the title says it all. 2009’s holiday season has been a busy one indeed, and I bet most of us are hoping for an even better year ahead in 2010 (better economy, more saucy HP notebooks and hardware, more mind-blowing game titles, etc).
Oh, speaking of games, I’ve just got the new title Colin McRae: DiRT 2 (it’s a car racing game) for PC for review. I had planned to crash at a […]

Modern Warfare 2 review (played on a HP Pavilion dm3)

By Brad Dec 9 2009 1 Comment

Brief intro
As a ‘gadget guy’ and enthusiast PC gamer, I was really excited when Modern Warfare 2 was first announced earlier this year. I was a big fan of 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (and having a bunch of equally-interested gaming buddies who had frequent LAN parties didn’t help much either ;). Towards July/August or so, Infinity Ward (Modern Warfare 2’s developer) started to announced some worrying “features”, most notably the decision to axe dedicated servers, LAN […]

I’ve got Left4Dead 2… and it loves to crash!

Hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend. I got one of 2009’s smash hit (to be) FPS titles over the weekends – Left4Dead 2 for PC. One word to sum up gameplay: Awesome! The graphics are not particularly game changing or Crysis-like, but nevertheless still mindblowing. Valve did a good job proving that Left4Dead 2 is more than just a “DLC” that could’ve been applied to the original Left4Dead. New zombie models, plenty of new weapons […]
